Sore, Stiff Elbow After a Fall

You may have a fracture of the radial head if:

  • At first you could move it and it seemed OK
  • But then it got stiff and sore

Treatment:

  • Most fractures of the radial head cause few, if any, long term problems
  • The key is not to let the elbow get stiff.
  • Once we're sure what's going on, the most important thing is to stretch the elbow out and get it moving.
