Arthritis of the Fingers

  • Arthritis of the fingertips runs in families
  • It makes the hand stiff and sore
  • The fingertips get bigger and sometimes turn down or to the side
  • Sometimes there is an association ganglion cyst
  • Most adapt well to the arthritis
  • If the fingertip twists, surgery can be done to fuse it (take away motion) so it feels better and is lined up
