Most infections heal with antibiotics alone, but some infections in the hand and arm might need surgery. Sometimes the antibiotics are given through a vein and not by mouth. If you can go see a doctor promptly, you may be able to avoid the emergency room for some of these infections.

• Infection of the tendon sheath (Septic Flexor Tenosynovitis)
• Abscess
• Septic Olecranon Bursitis
